Personality answers:
Who in your character's canon influenced the most growth in your character? What do they think about this character?

Sal at the bodega who makes the perfect egg sandwich deserves the prize belt, but the Joker beats him by a hair.

Lord almighty, where to even start with the Joker. He was her everything, her entire world, the true north on her compass. From the very moment the young Dr. Quinzel (and do not even get me started on how that timeline would work given that she’s only 31 by her canonpoint) took on his patient file, she was enthralled. She gave up everything to be with him, even after repeated and violent rejections, until he eventually let her stay.

A common interpretation is that the Joker broke Harleen Quinzel and molded Harley Quinn into everything she is now. I heartily disagree, because it takes all agency away from Harley and attributes too much of her character to the Joker even after they break up and she moves on. Some part of her will always be fascinated with him, inextricably tied up in him, but her personality is too consistent after him. Their toxicity and codependence made the both of them worse, gleefully escalating each other to bigger and worse displays of criminal romance. But even though he arguably made her worse, I do not entirely buy in that he made her different.

It is not accurate to say that the Joker made Harley Quinn. The Joker saw what was already there inside Harleen Quinzel and was the first person to encourage her to live fully as that version of herself. Unapologetic, unburdened, and gloriously unhinged. Who wouldn’t fall in love with the first person to see the worst parts of you and teach you that you don’t have to apologize for it?

What does your character think about physical appearances? Are they the sort to meticulously primp themselves, or could they not care less?

Harley cares a lot, and also not at all. She spends a lot of time and effort looking exactly the way she wants to look, but does so without consideration for current beauty trends. She definitely used to follow conventional standards before meeting the Joker, and put work into being a pretty little decoration while they were together, but since their breakup she hasn’t cared about anyone’s gaze except her own. She does her makeup like a hot mess. She experiments with her hair. She layers on textures and colors and anything that tickles her fancy, and anyone who doesn’t like the view can go fuck themselves. At the same time, she doesn’t get very attached to the things she wears (besides one notable, sentimental outfit exception) and is probably going to ruin any look by the end of the night without a second thought to how messy she gets.

And as for anyone else’s appearance? Honey, her ex is a clown. The bar is low and she’s not one to judge.

What is your character most afraid of?

Harley is most afraid of being ignored. Being discarded. Being alone. Not the kind of peaceful quiet of a room to oneself but the absolute loneliness of being so disconnected from community that you might as well be invisible. She's afraid of being alone with herself, because she knows she is bad company. She’s afraid of being ignored. The way she dresses, acts out, treats a conversation like a knife fight— it’s all in service of screaming here I am, acknowledge me whether you like it or not! Nobody can deny your existence when they’re too busy drinking haterade.

What would your character say is their best trait? What truly is their best trait?

Harley's answer depends on her mood. On a good day she might say her smile, her sense of humor, or her legs (they're sexy!). In her darker moods she is likely to say her ability to take a punch, her capacity for creative violence, or her legs (they can be a murder weapon!).

The real answer, and one she would not think of herself, is her resilience. Harley truly can roll with the punches, literal and metaphorical, and easily adapts to new people and situations. Every pivot, every curveball, every deeply unhinged bullshit dredged from the depths of DC madness – Harley keeps on Harleyin’. Granted, part of this may be from a lifetime of finely honed repression and subsuming her personal needs to gain the approval of others. But! It still counts!

Inventory:
  • Personalized mallet
  • Bulletproof bustier
  • Bertinelli diamond (If it can be sold for local currency. If not, she will take an egg sandwich.)
  • Live Fast Die Clown leather jacket
Powers/Abilities: Harley is considered above average but not superpowered within canon. Her notable skills are as follows:
  • Peak Physical Condition
  • Master Acrobat
  • Master Combatant
  • Proficient Marksman
  • Proficient Escapologist
  • Getaway Driver
  • Poison Resistance (We do not specifically see this in the DCEU version, but it is a feature in all other versions. There is nothing specifically in DCEU to verify or disprove that it is still true, and I typically RP assuming that it is. However, this could easily be struck from the list at mod discretion.)

Player Goals: Not to be an insufferable DC fan, but ... Do I really look like a guy with a plan? I just do things. I’m into the premise and interested in exploring how Harley reacts to being forced into a new state of being after only recently finding her own footing as an individual, but as for goals and plans? Brother, I am simply here for the vibes.
Soul Choice: Glire - specifically a jackalope for flavor (horns nubs are cosmetic only, no ruminantia powers/benefits).
