[ Harley sat on her heels and wrapped her arms around Bruce, pressing the side of her face against his coarse fur and peeking up at Jonathan. ]

Did he say what he was actually mad about? It couldn't really have been about the ice cream, right? Only I don't know what else I did...

[ A simple nod was given to the thanks as he remained standing, crossing his arms to keep from showing nervousness. Not being able to feel fear should have removed that and yet it didn't.]

He claimed it was an accident. Meant to be a joke over the ice cream and then it really deleted. Which, I find an inexcusable answer. I did some research into how to recover your island if no one else did. Seeing the time spent to make such an island it is inexcusable to have that time simply lost.

Okay. Um. [ She bit the inside of her mouth and turned her face down to keep her expression from looking too relieved. ] Can I come home?

If you want, Harleen, it's your home too. That ain't changed. [ He worried it would be pressuring and yet he had to say it ]

[ She stands up and brushes her hands off on her jeans. ]

I'll be there when you get home tonight.

[ That faint smile appeared before he forced it away, Pamala could be around, Harley could see him smile no one else. ]

I shouldn't take too terribly long, I am just waiting on Toxin to finish proofing. I left the boys watching it.

[ Putting Harley before work was still a big thing for him. ]

[ Harley fidgeted for a few seconds before she couldn't hold out anymore and threw herself at him. ]

Oh Jonny!

[ It took him a second to uncross his arms from under her to wrap them around her, dropping a kiss to the crown of her head. Just relishing in the feel of her being back in his arms. This was a moment his reputation didn't matter.]

I'll try to hurry it up but once I leave, for now this is perfect.

[ Harley's fingers curled into the fabric at the back of his jacket and she tucked her head under his chin with a sigh. ]

Take me home?

I can do that.

[ He'd call the boys in a minute and tell them to keep an eye on the toxin and make sure everything is stored properly when it's finished. For now, though the Toxin could wait. Holding her against him he closed his eyes and just breathed in her scent. ]

Take as long as you need to get anything you want to bring, I'll wait here.

[ She kissed him quick before darting inside to pack. She hadn't taken much with her when she'd left, so it didn't take long for her to throw everything into a bag. ]

[ The kiss was returned as he waited outside, making that call to the boys. Along with the threat of any mistakes would mean a gassing for them when he finds out. Once the call was done, he hung up, it was a quick call anyway. Ready to take whatever she carried out so she could handle Bruce. ]

[ She could grab a ride with him next time he came back into the city and pick up her car, unless Dinah found it and reclaimed it before then. It would be a bummer, but she could grab a new ride without too much trouble.

She kissed him again before tossing her bag in the back of the truck and helping Bruce in. ]

How much work do you have left today?

[ He would bring her back for that, and if the car was missing he'd give her the truck keys for while he was working until they could go steal her a new car. After all, where would he be beside the lab? He could send Stanley or Sam out on snack runs.

Kissing her back he pulled open the door for her while she tossed her bag in the back, going around and slipping in the driver's side as he turned over the engine. Fully intending to take her home, Bruce did not belong in his lab. He wasn't Mr. J. No hyenas. ]

I've taken the rest of the day off for you. I let the boys know to keep and eye on things, it will be fine.

[ Harley settles into her seat and hugs her knees to her chest. She grins at him and just basks in being close to him again. ]

Let's make a stop on the way home and get that stupid ice cream.

[ It was nice to have her close again, even if it was just heading back into Gotham traffic with Bruce in the truck with them. ]

If you want, the choice is yours, darlin'. Personally I don't think he deserves it.

We can eat it without him.

[ offering her a sly look when they hit a red light.]
